Medicine Elective Descriptions

There are 28 Medicine Electives listed below alphabetically by location (YNHH or VA). Please click on the PDF file next to the elective you are interested in for a complete description of the elective. Please note that each elective has a code number...you'll need the elective numbers to enter on the elective registration form you submit. Our office can only sign you up for the electives we list below. Please do not send any sign-up paperwork to the Education Office if the elective you desire is not listed below.

Elective Contact Information

Affiliated Residents are responsible for printing out and following the instructions on their assigned elective descriptions (i.e. Many electives require residents to contact them prior to the start date.) Although we have included the staff and faculty contact information on each Medicine Elective descriptions, this information was intended in the case of an emergency. Please call the elective site only if the elective description requests you to do so prior to the elective.

Scheduling an Elective

Contact Barbara Wanciak at 785-6963, Residency Manager for Yale Internal Medicine Education, to make changes to your elective schedule. Yale Sections of Internal Medicine have agreed to refer all resident elective inquiries to the Residency Manager so please don't call them to schedule an elective.
